MacDonald Home & Yacht Care gives you the peace of mind that your property is taken care of when you are out of town. With our Home Watch services we regularly visit your home and conduct a thorough and in-depth inspection to ensure your property is safe from any existing or future problems.

 

When it's time to return home we are available for airport pickups and grocery stocking to ensure your arrival is as seamless as possible.

 

Below is an overview of just some of the items

that we inspect during our visits:

Exterior Services

• ​Review property for exterior curb appearance

• Walk the property

• Ensure all garages, doors and windows are secured

• Check & collect any debris including papers, debris and circulars that may have been left on property

• Ensure all outdoor furniture is in upright order

• Check storage sheds are properly secured

• Clear mailbox and leave inside or forward direct to owner

• Check exterior of the home has not been damaged by any storms 

• Open and close garage door to check it is working properly

• If car has been left in the garage we are able to run it for a few minutes

• Check for any signs of vandalism

• Make sure there aren't any pest issues that could arise

Interior Services

• Full inspection of interior 

• Check for any mold/mildew or pest issues

• Check to see if power is on in the home

• Flush toilets and run faucets to ensure working order

• Inspect under faucets to make sure there are no leaks/pest issues

• Run garbage disposal

• Run the dishwasher through a cycle to keep the seals soft (monthly)

•  If refrigerator/freezer are left on, check for working operation. If left off/open, check for any signs of mildew/mold 

• Inspect hot water heater for leaks and check to see if it should be on or off

• Check ceilings for any leaks or water damage

• Temperature reading taken to ensure Owner's desired set temperature is correct

• Alarm system - Inspect to make sure alarm is functioning properly. We are available to serve as your local contact to check the interior of your residence on alarm activation calls for an extra charge. We will either correct the problem or call and advise of the situation

• If the home has lights on Timers we will ensure they are properly working and we will reset them to the appropriate times after power interruptions

• Perform battery test on Smoke Detectors on a monthly basis

• Check to see if there are any tripped breakers on Circuit Breaker Box

• Check home after it has been used by guests for condition and security
